Review: Bachi Burger Summerlin

One place nearly everyone from Hawaii eats at in Vegas is Bachi Burger.  So we ended up give Bachi Burger Summerlin a try.

On our last full day in Vegas, we ended up primarily running errands.  Can’t visit the mainland without visiting places like Trader’s Joe, right?  And since we were in the area, we went Bachi Burger Summerlin for lunch.

The Restaurant + Service

Bachi Burger Summerlin is located in the Village Square shopping center.  The place has a mix of restaurants, shops, offices, and a theater.  Bachi Burger is located near one of the corners near a Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop.

Inside, the restaurant has a rather casual atmosphere with a decidedly Asian-influenced decor.  It wasn’t particularly noisy when we got there, but it really wasn’t that crowded either.  But, it was mid-day on a weekday, so that’s not surprising.

Service throughout our lunch was friendly and attentive.

The Food

Bachi Burger does have a fairly extensive menu.  There are a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, salads, etc. to choose from.  But no one in our party was particularly hungry and portions are generous in size, so we stuck with orders some fries and burgers.

For our fries, we ended up ordering 3 different types for the four of us to share: Truffle Parmesan, Sweet Potato, and Salt & Pepper Garlic Fries.  All were good, though I’m split between the Truffle Parmesan and the Salt & Pepper Garlic Fries being my favorite.

The truffle fries, refreshingly aren’t doused in truffle oil.  Instead, the fries are topped with a truffle porcini cream sauce and shredded parmesan cheese.  My only complaint would be that there was a slightly sweetness to them, which was weird.  The Salt & Pepper Garlic fries are a bit different too, using jalapeño slices instead of black pepper.  On the other hand, the sweet potato fries were just plain old sweet potato fries.

For my burger, I went with the Black & Green Burger.  This burger is comprised of an American Wagyu patty, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, blue cheese, and roasted garlic.

The burger was actually pretty good and probably has a decent serving of veggies in it (in my mind, haha).  But Mrs. Island Miler’s burger was the better of the two, even though it didn’t really look like it: the Miyagi-San.

Her burger combines a wagyu patty, chili mayo, a fried egg, crispy bacon, onion rings, and a sprinkling of furikake.  It was a messy, unwieldily burger, but damn was it tasty!  Wish I had ordered that instead.

Bachi Burger Summerlin Final Thoughts

Bachi Burger is a solid choice.  Their unique, Asian-Inspired burgers are good and the value is decent.  I wish they’d let you customize your burger, though.  There were combinations of items I wanted to try together, but all they have are the specialty burgers listed.  Maybe next time I’ll ask if I can build my own.  And, of course, being located in Summerlin makes Bachi Burger a little less convenient than, say, Shake Shack.  But that doesn’t bother me, as I don’t like spending all my time on the strip anyway.
