Pre-merger, I was team Alaska Air and was genuinely excited for the prospect of them and Hawaiian becoming one. They talked a good game in the beginning, but I have to say, I think AAG is failing at PR around the merger, and it’s making me second-guess my original stance of the combination. 

Alaska Air Group just launched a “new” reward program, along with its first-ever super premium credit card. However, that doesn’t mean the changes are stopping, as unfortunate Atmos partner changes are on the horizon, along with another tweak to fleet planning. 

With a new loyalty program comes, new credit cards. Sort of. So, now that we’ve gone over Atmos Rewards and changes for HawaiianMiles members, let’s discuss the Atmos Rewards credit cards, with a particular focus on the community’s new darling card: the Atmos Summit. 

The new Alaska Air Group loyalty program, Atmos Rewards, dropped on August 20, 2025. However, as you saw in my coverage that day, communication wasn’t the best. Actually, it was AWFUL. So, I’m here again to go over HawaiianMiles changes for Atmos Rewards, based on the latest information available to us. 

The unified Alaska Airlines + Hawaiian Airlines loyalty program is here, and it’s called Atmos Rewards. This is a moment in time that marks what is likely the most tangible shift of this very different integration process. And the one that will have the largest impact on frequent fliers of both airlines. 

Before you get up in arms over Alaska Airlines forcing changes to steal planes, this isn’t that. Rather, since Hawaiian is suspending three routes, it’ll take those planes and redeploy them on their own existing routes that have the demand to justify the additional frequencies. 

Let’s have some fun. As you know, I don’t agree with the two-brand, three-livery approach Alaska Air Group is taking. So, here are my thoughts on a third AAG brand, which would better differentiate the different offerings of the group.
